A girl, having emigrated from Russia with her family, her mother tries to build up a life in Amsterdam and becomes a prostitute. Slowly, the older beautiful sister Katia whom the girl adores follows her mother into prostitution. The girl is lonely, having nobody to share her feelings with. She becomes increasingly isolated and refers herself only as “Katia’s Sister.”
